The REZ

JB's journey to creating 'The Rez' is deeply rooted in his upbringing and lifelong passions. Guided by his love for the outdoors and rock climbing, JB discovered the Obed area, a place that resonated deeply with his soul. It was here that his dream of 'The Rez' began to take shape. JB's keen eye saw the untapped potential of the wooded land atop a hill which he purchased in 2017, and with his extensive tree experience, he transformed it into the picturesque oasis that 'The Rez' is today.

 

As a young boy JB was raised in an old log cabin reminiscent of "Little House on the Prairie", he developed a love for antiques and a fascination with log homes from a young age. His parents' affinity for auctions exposed him to unique treasures early on, which ignited a passion that would later shape this future endeavor.

 

As a young adult, JB embarked on a career in tree work, honing his skills and earning a stellar reputation in his town. Over three decades in the industry, he amassed a collection of logs with the intention of future unknown projects. As his passion for tree work waned, and the world was hit with the Covid-19 pandemic, JB found himself drawn to a new chapter: crafting rental cabins built from his collection of logs and adorned with his cherished antiques. He realized he already had the bones to build a few cabins on his property, so he moved his collection of logs, lumber and antique grinding stones to the property and got to work.
